A cat is a friend for life

Maybe more than a husband or wife

When you are low, it seems to know

Helping you smile and be rid of your strife

Just remember to treat it well

That way it may stay for a spell

But if you once treat it mean, it soon won’t be seen

It’ll find somewhere else to dwell
