She’s Gone

2010-07-13-11h52m49Wispa was our dear grey cat

Until one week ago

Now buried where she often sat

We really miss her so

She lit our lives and made our days

For nearly twenty years

How we laughed at her little ways

Sadly, now, there’s only tears

She was so ill, was fighting for breath

When we called in the local vet

Now, sadly, looking back at her death

Would we have her again? You bet!

One’s Lot

Pain and suffering

Misery, fear

Common hardships

Many must bear

Though some exist

Without such woes

Not mindful how

For others, it goes

But all will know

They share equal fate

When time is up

On that future date

What if, then,

Each gets their due

And what lies in store

Is all up to you?

If not so, fine!

Carry on as before

No need for insurance

Unless you’re not sure

If not this, what?

The rising sun and beating heart

Embracing lovers, soon to part

A furry friend, a solid rock

Hands marking time upon a clock

Tasting coffee, fresh from the bean

A peaceful moonlit landscape scene

Violent storm-tossed crashing seas

Gently humming honey bees

Are these and more as they seem to be,

If we each experience them differently?

Is life a dream, or is it real?

Do we know the answer, because we feel?

For Mother’s Day

What price would you put on a mother’s care?

For without your Mum, you wouldn’t be here

All helpless at birth, you arrived on this earth

Drawing your first breath of air

More work began then, for your dear Ma

If she was lucky, she was helped by Pa

Mum cleaned and fed, she made your bed

Loving you just as you are

Safe in her arms, the world held at bay

Teaching and nurturing you every day

You’d struggle to thrive, or even survive

Without her to show you the way

Think now how it was for her in that past

Back in a time that could not last

Mum did her best, she passed every test

As she watched you grow up, just too fast
